SW London Apartment

Greener Builds undertook the complete interior reconstruction of this apartment in South-West London.

Our designers were able to free up much space in the flat by removing the old inefficient boiler and installing a super-energy efficient combination boiler.

The internal wall between the small kitchen and tiny study was knocked through to create a much brighter and more spacious kitchen-dinning area. This created a much more practical living space. The solid oak kitchen combined with the slate flooring has given this room a real bespoke finish.

By replacing the old carpets with sustainably sourced wood flooring the flat has been given a real contemporary make over that exudes softness and warmth.

We worked hard to restore the old Victorian plaster cornice ensuring the new contemporary decor kept some of its Victorian grandeur.

Contract value: £30,000

Greener Fields: The conversion of a 50 foot piece of garden space into a fully operational ORGANIC allotment.

In a leafy part of SW London, Greener Builds is working on a project to turn a 32 m2 garden plot into a working urban-vegetable farm. Over the next 12 months Greener Builds will turn this patch of grass into a fully operationally allotment, which will allow the owners of the property to suck on the sweetest of fruits and nibble on the tastiest of vegetables from April through to December.

Greener Builds shall be making regular visits to this site in order to ensure the smooth running and maintenance of the project. It is envisaged that this will be a continued commitment from the Greener Builds team, providing a case study for the web site, and allowing anyone and everyone to take inspiration and turn there plots into mini food producing Greener Fields projects!

*Update, 1st December 2009.

The Greener Fields project is a sucess, currently wielding a generous amaount of vegetables ready for the winter season. Have a look at the photos below to see how they look.
